Bahrainské království patří mezi 10 nejvíce bezpečných zemí světa. Jedná se o menší ostrovní stát, kde do hodiny a půl dojedete prakticky všude. Pláže a moře jsou tady nádherné. Navíc cestovní kanceláře nabízí velmi výhodné nabídky.

The Kingdom of Bahrain is among the 10 safest countries in the world. It is a small island state, where you can reach practically anywhere within an hour and a half. The beaches and sea are beautiful. Moreover, travel agencies offer very affordable deals.
V bodech:
- Kupte si pobytový zájezd a leťte přímým letem přímo z Prahy (jinak musíte letět s přestupem). Let trvá 5-6 hodin.
- Víza se kupují za 5 BHD přímo na letišti v Bahrainu.
- Hotovost nepotřebujete. Říká se, že hotovost se hodí, když se jdete podívat na Souq (trh), ale ani tam jsme ji nepotřebovali.
- Místo hotelových taxi využívejte Uber, přijede stejné auto, jen zaplatíte o polovinu méně. Na výlety po Manamě je Uber ideální.
- Pokud chcete objet ostrov celý, můžete si půjčit auto. Cesty jsou v Bahrainu v dobrém stavu, je však třeba být trošku ostražitější před místními chaotickými řidiči, kteří velmi často neřeší předpisy a ještě při tom zvládnou psát sms.
- Slunce je zde velmi ostré! Používejte sluneční krém i když se zdá, že je pod mrakem.
- Na letišti v Bahrainu je obří hřiště pro děti všech kategorií, nemusíte se tedy bát, že se děti budou nudit.
In points:
- Buy a staycation and fly directly from Prague (otherwise you have to fly with a transfer). The flight takes 5-6 hours.
- Visas can be bought for 5 BHD directly at the airport in Bahrain.
- You don’t need cash. They say that cash is useful when you go to see the Souq (market), but we didn’t need it there either.
- Instead of hotel taxis, use Uber, the same car will come, you just pay half as much. Uber is ideal for trips around Manama.
- If you want to go around the whole island, you can rent a car. The roads in Bahrain are in good condition, you just need to be a little more vigilant against the local chaotic drivers, who very often don’t pay attention to the regulations and still manage to text.
- The sun is very strong here! Use sunscreen even if it seems to be under clouds.
- There is a huge playground for children of all ages at the Bahrain airport, so you don’t have to worry about your children getting bored.

- Podívejte se do mešity Al Fatih.
- Pokud máte čas, je zde menší, ale hezké akvárium, popřípadě národní muzeum.
- Z dalších míst jsou zde k vidění – strom života, závodní okruh F1, velbloudí farma a ostrov Jarada.

- Wander around Souq Al Bab Bahrain – a traditional market in the heart of Manama.
- Check out the Al Fatih mosque.
- If you have time, there is a smaller but nice aquarium, or the national museum.
- Other places to see here include the tree of life, the F1 race track, camel farm and Jarada Island.

Bahrain Bay
Asi nejhezčí místo v Manamě. Jedná se o zátoku s krásným výhledem na moře a moderní tvarem zajímavé mrakodrapy. Projděte se kolem moře, užijte si krásný výhled a zastavte se na kávu či dezert v hotelu Four Seasons. Hotel stojí na samostatném ostrůvku a má tvar písmena H. Pokud sebou nemáte děti, můžete se jít kochat výhledem do baru v posledním patře hotelu. Do baru je dětem vstup zakázán. V přízemí na terase jsou však děti vítány. I terasa má krásný výhled a i interiér hotelu stojí za shlédnutí.
Bahrain Bay
Probably the most beautiful place in Manama. It is a bay with a beautiful view of the sea and modern skyscrapers with interesting shapes. Walk around the sea, enjoy the beautiful view and stop for a coffee or dessert at the Four Seasons Hotel. The hotel is located on a separate island and is shaped like the letter H. If you don’t have children with you, you can go and enjoy the view at the bar on the top floor of the hotel. Children are not allowed in the bar. However, children are welcome on the terrace downstairs. The terrace also has a beautiful view and the interior of the hotel is worth seeing.
Bahrain Souq a mešita Al Fatih
Souq neboli tržiště je vlastně spleť uliček s nejrůznějšími obchody s kořením, oblečením, suvenýry či čokoládou. Bohužel se zde nachází i spousta obchodů s padělky – kabelky Chanel či Rolexky seženete na každém rohu. Nikdo z prodejců však nebyl otravný ani vlezlý. Moc věcí nás však nezaujalo a tak jsme odešli bez suvenýrů.
Bahrain Souq a mešita Al Fatih
The souq, or marketplace, is actually a maze of alleys with various shops selling spices, clothes, souvenirs and chocolate.Unfortunally there are many shops selling fake goods – you can find Chanel handbags or Rolexes on every corner. None of the sellers were annoying or pushy. However, we were not interested in many things, so we left without any souvenirs.
Můžete se jít podívat i do mešity, kde vás průvodce seznámí s fungováním mešity. Vstup i prohlídka je zdarma.
You can also visit the mosque, where a guide will introduce you to the functioning of the mosque. Admission and tour are free.
Akvárium a národní muzeum
Pokud máte větrný den, můžete zajít do akvária, které se nachází v rozsáhlém nákupním centru Marassi. Akvárium je menší, ale pěkné a pro děti je zde spousta tunelů a chodbiček, kde se mohou s podmořským světem z blízka seznámit.
Aquarium and National Museum
If you have a windy day, you can go to the aquarium which is located in the large Marassi shopping center. The aquarium is smaller but nice and there are lots of tunnels and corridors for children, where they can see the underwater world.
Pro děti může být zajímavé i národní muzeum, kde je spousta soch nebo např. kopií starých obchodů či lodí. Pro nás dospělé muzeum až tak zajímavé nebylo, ale mělo hezký výhled na moře 🙂
The national museum can also be interesting for children. There are lots of statues or, for example, copies of old shops or ships. For us adults, the museum wasn’t that interesting, but it had a nice view of the sea 🙂
Ostatní
Mezi navštěvovaná místa v Bahrainu patří také “Strom života,” který v bahrainském suchu přežívá již přes 400 let. Sám o sobě je strom hezký, ale okolí je trošku škaredé.
Další místo k vidění je okruh formule 1, kde můžete jít na prohlídku a projet se v motokárách na trase vedle okruhu. Můžete se zastavit podívat na velbloudy na Royal Camel Farm, na pozůstatky portugalské pevnosti Qal’at al-Bahrain či na mizející ostrov Jarada. Ostro je vidět pouze, když je odliv a s přílivem mizí. Musíte se však informovat o povětrnostních podmínkách a zda je na ostrov možno vyrazit.
Také je možné si zakoupit jednodenní výlet do Saudské Arábie. Výlet je však kvůli vstupním vízům velmi drahý a za nás pro malé děti, z důvodu striktního plánu prohlídek a delší doby v autobuse, nevhodný.
Ostatní
Among the places to visit in Bahrain is also the “Tree of life,” which has survived in the Bahraini drought for over 400 years. The tree itself is nice, but the surroundings are a bit ugly.
Another place to see is the Formula 1 circuit where you can go on a tour and ride go-karts on the track next to the circuit. You can stop to see the camels at the Royal Camel Farm, the remains of the Portuguese fortress Qal’at al-Bahrain or the disappearing island of Jarada. The island is only visible when the tide is out and disappears with the tide. Be informed about the weather conditions and whether it is possible to go to the island by boat.
It is also possible to buy a one-day trip to Saudi Arabia. However, the trip is very expensive due to the entry visas and, in our opinion, unsuitable for young children due to the strict sightseeing schedule and the longer time on the bus.
Bahrain splnil naše očekávání. Krásné moře a pláže a to, co jsme chtěli navštívit, bylo kousek. Je vidět, že se zde hodně staví a Bahrain má do budoucna ambice stát se takovými menšími Emiráty. Využijte tedy doby, kdy zde ještě není tolik turistů a také tak draho.
Bahrain met our expectations. Beautiful sea and beaches and what we wanted to visit was a short distance away. A lot of construction is taking place here and it is clear that Bahrain has ambitions to become “Emirates” in the future. So take advantage of the time when there are not so many tourists and it is also not so expensive.
